Earlier in the week, I had a conversation with a group of women, looking to The Pete Dye Golf Trail for their next golf trip. It was something they tried to do a couple of times a year at different locations in the Midwest. I mentioned to them that there were two reasons they needed to look at The Pete Dye Golf Trail to plan their trip. From the golf perspective, it was not that there were great golf courses to play, but all of them were great golf courses that women enjoy playing. Mr. and Mrs. Dye’s concept of multiple tees, strategically placed to challenge but not punish golfers, makes it easy for a group to find the right set of tees for their skill level. Therefore, whichever of the seven courses they chose I knew their golf experience would be great.
The other advantage is the vast number of things to do if the entire trip is not just about golf. We have all that Indianapolis has to offer. We have the casino and spa at the French Lick Resort. We have the Big Ten experience of Lafayette/West Lafayette, and Purdue University. We can also offer one of the most beautiful lakes in the Midwest, Lake Maxinkuckee and the quaint village of Culver. Last, but in no way least, is the absolute gem of a city, Carmel, Indiana.

First, the golf. Plum Creek Golf Club, located just easy of downtown Carmel, is a semi-private golf course in an open setting. The golf course works it way around a combination of prairie grasses, water, and strategically placed sand to provide a playable, but challenging round of golf. Plum Creek has been host to a number of state and regional.

Carmel, Indiana is the fastest growing city in Indiana. It only takes one visit to understand why. For a visitor, it is a wonderful combination great parks, shopping, restaurants, hotels. The Carmel Arts and Design District designed and successfully built to feature small business and artisans. Carmel City Center is a one million square foot, mixed use development, featuring the Palladium, a 1600 seat concert hall and a 500-seat theatre named “The Tarkington”. Carmel is also home to Clay Terrace, an outdoor lifestyle center featuring upscale retail shops and restaurants. Really too much to experience on a 2 or 3 day trip.
