French Lick Springs Resort - Pa

Today's post features the French Lick Springs Resort. This luxury resort, which dates back to the early 1800s, recently underwent a $500 million restoration and expansion that is sure to dazzle. For golfers, French Lick offers a premium course designed by the game's foremost architect.

The Pete Dye Course Golf Course at French Lick was named 2009's Best New Course in America by Golf Digest. Originally conceived as a sketch by Pete Dye on a napkin at a nearby restaurant, this hilltop course (it's built on the highest point in Indiana) offers 40-mile panoramic views of the breathtaking Hoosier National Forest. While the course stretches to over 8,100 yards from the tips, it features five sets of tees — beginning at 5,100 feet — making it playable by golfers of every skill level. Listen to Mr. Dye as he describes how the project evolved and his comments on the end result. Amazing is a word that comes to mind.

While in French Lick, stay at one of two amazing resort properties, West Baden Springs Hotel and French Lick Springs Hotel. West Baden Springs' domed lobby was once known as the eighth wonder of the world and French Lick Springs is best known for the “miracle waters” of its nearby sulfur springs. With an on-site casino, spas, entertainment and dining, French Lick is an indulgent stop along your trail experience.
